Both Tony Pulis and Slaven Bilic find themselves under pressure ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture that sees West Bromwich Albion host West Ham United at Hawthorns. West Ham had a very strong last season and were expected to build on it this term but it has been an underwhelming start for them. On the other hand, West Brom has looked as uninspiring as ever this season and are on the back of a poor 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth.
Since their 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on the opening day, West Brom have not won a single game. On the other hand, West Ham are yet to impress this season as they have lost three games already and are just a point above the bottom three. The Hammers have won just one game this season which was a narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth. They are on the back of a 2-4 loss at the hands of Watford where they looked to be in the driver’s seat after the 33rd minute with a 2-goal lead. Watford made an inspiring comeback to seal all three points from the game as the Hammers perhaps became a bit too complacent after their lead.
West Ham have a point to prove when they take on the Baggies on Saturday and Slaven Bilic is likely to field his strongest XI. Here is the predicted West Ham lineup against West Brom.
Defence
Adrian will definitely start between the sticks for the Hammers ahead of Darren Randolph. Alvaro Arbeloa is likely to make his debut in the right-back position. It is a bit surprising to see Slaven Bilic preferring James Collins ahead of Angelo Ogbonna so far this season, The Italian should make his way back to the starting XI and partner Winston Reid at the heart of the defence. Arthur Masuaku will continue in the right-back position.
Midfield
Cheikhou Kouyate and Mark Noble are likely to keep their places in the middle of the park. The duo were immense last season but we are yet to see the two firing this season. Manuel Lanzini will keep his place in the number ten role. Dimitri Payet, West Ham’s key player will start on the left flank while in-form Michail Antonio is likely to keep his place on the right despite Sofiane Feghouli returning from injury.
Attack
Simone Zaza had an uninspiring debut against Watford but the Italian is likely to keep his place up front. The Juventus loanee will be keen to make his mark against West Brom.
