Rangers are looking to bring back Emerson Hyndman on loan from Bournemouth for the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old has only been called up twice for the senior Cherries team over the past 6 months and are eager to find himself more minutes on the pitch.
A product of the Fulham youth academy having joined the side when he was just 15, Hyndman has already served a loan spell with the Ibrox club in the 2016/17 season from January 2017. A bright young prospect arising from the United States, Hyndman is well versed with top quality football and is held in high regards by Eddie Howe. He has been capped at international level both for the U21 side and at senior level. He is a definite part of the Cherries future in the Premier League and crucial first team experience is highly necessary to successfully break into the first team.
Rangers have already signed a central midfielder in Sean Goss from Queens Park Rangers and are looking to close in on league leaders, Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. It looks like the title might just have slipped out of their hands with the Hoops cruising at the top of the league with an 11 point lead over Graeme Murty’s side.
Murty has taken on an aggressive approach to the January transfer window and has bolstered the club ranks immensely with four signings already. It looks like the chips are still rolling now that they are looking into another youngster like Hyndman. Carlos Pena’s exit has definitely left a void which needs to be filled ahead of the second half of the season and the 43-year-old looks to have taken up the challenge quite eagerly.
Hyndman can easily provide a rotational optional to what can already be identified as a start stacked lineup. Behind the likes of Jason Holt and veteran Niko Kranjcar, the Dallas-born midfielder can take up the anchor position in some games to provide a lot of opportunities for the side going forward.
Hyndman created and scored 8 times in 18 appearances for the club last season and was huge hit under Murty. The player also flourished in the Scottish game and is more than happy to play for a manager who has an interest in his talents.
With Jason Cummings at the top and Russell Martin in the backline, the new Rangers squad looks set to stop the league title streak of Celtics who are closing in on a 7th consecutive domestic trophy.
