Paris Saint-German has made Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kanté their top priority for next summer. According to recent reports in the French media, the Parisian club are desperate to land the 26-year-old French international and are plotting a move for the summer. Kante has been outstanding since making a switch to the Premier League from SM Caen in the summer of 2015. He has won back to back Premier League titles with Leicester City and Chelsea since his move to England and could now be on his way back to Ligue 1 with PSG hot on his heels for a possible move after the current season comes to a close.
The 26-year-old is highly regarded as one of the best midfielders in European football, and now Le10Sport claim PSG are hoping to try and lure him back to France. They are looking to find a long-term replacement for veteran holding midfielder Thiago Motta and has made Kante their preferred choice to succeed the Italian at the centre of the park.
It is believed that PSG sporting director Antero Henrique is eager to sign Kante, though tentative talks with his agent have indicated that the French midfield enforcer is wary of returning to Ligue 1 so soon.
It is understood that Antonio Conte’s Chelsea has no intention of parting ways with their prized asset and regard him as one of the most influential members of the team, with his current deal with the Blues set to run out in the summer of 2021. Any potential move in the summer would require a huge bid with the Ligue 1 giants conscious of having to stay within the confinements of Financial Fair Play regulations.
Kante has made 26 appearances for Chelsea this season and has scored once in all competitions. He has been a rock in Antonio Conte’s midfield and was the unsung hero of their title-winning team last season. The Blues can’t afford to lose him at any cost going into the future if they are to succeed in the Premier League and in Europe. The French midfielder has been magnificent during his time in England and could turn out to be one of the best midfielders to have ever played in the top tier of English football. However, the lure of Paris may prove to be too difficult for the 26-year-old to turn down.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the Chelsea star and whether PSG will be successful in their efforts to lure him away from English football.
