Tottenham Hotspur are one of the very few clubs that youngsters around England cannot completely reject. The manager Mauricio Pochettino has built himself a reputation of a nurturer of young talent and it does not come as a surprise that his side are now scouting for the next brightest star in English football.
A number of exciting names have constantly been linked with a move to the club recently and one name that is now doing the rounds is young Andre Green.
According to reports from The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have joined Bournemouth in the race to sign Aston Villa starlet Andre Green, who is making headlines this season. Reports claim that Spurs were interested in his signature a couple of years ago but are now ready to go all in for his signature.
Having just returned from a hamstring injury, the 19-year old is a versatile winger, who can also play a no.10 role. He started his career at the academy at Aston Villa, he only broke into the first team in 2016 and has managed to cement a place in the first team under Steve Bruce this season.
Prior to the injury, he picked up in December, he was impressive in almost every outing he was given, picking up a goal in five Championship appearances. Known for his speed and close control, Green is an excellent dribbler, who can not only beat his man on the wing but can also cut in and create chances for his side.
He can play on either wing and is a hard man to mark, as he showed in his most recent outing in the FA Cup, earlier this month. At just 19, he already has 20 Championship appearances and also has two caps for the England U20 national side.
He has been a regular for the junior side at Aston Villa, picking up six goals and eight assists in 35 Premier League 2 appearances. At his age, he is only going to get better and it is understood that Pochettino is convinced that he is the right man for his side.
The manager turned former MK Dons starlet Dele Alli into one of the most effective playmakers in the country at the moment and playing for him will not be a hard choice to make for Green. Given enough time, the Aston Villa man can turn into a world beater but do you think Pochettino and his Spurs side can get him there?
