Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini has been in fine form this season and it seems his hard work is going to bear fruit with top clubs in Europe interested in securing the signature of the young Italian. The 21-year old has been linked with a move to England with clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea interested in snapping up the attacking midfielder.
The lure to move for the Italian has only hyped up after it was reported that the player has a mere 21 million pound release clause in his contract. Lorenzo has been playing some excellent football this season and has made over 20 appearances for the Roman outfit. He has scored just two goals but the player has been excellent with his link-up play and being only 21, he has a long road ahead of him.
It is his red-hot form that has attracted a keen interest from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. The machine of Manchester City keeps rolling as Pep Guardiola’s men came out of their semi-final clash against Bristol City with a late winner to further their quest for a quadruple this season. In the league, they have a massive fourteen point lead at the top of the table and are looking increasingly set on bringing home the league trophy come May.
After a heavy spending summer, that saw the Arab owners lavishly dish around their cash, City was boasting of a squad full of world-class talent. Pep not only had eleven quality players but also a bench that would be in the starting line-up for most teams around Europe. With such heavy artillery at his disposal, it is no surprise to find City where they are now.
The Citizens are undefeated in the league and have just lost one inconsequential Champions League match after locking down on their qualification to the next stage of Europe. Their incredible form has set a record in England for the highest consecutive league wins and City are looking increasingly dominant with each passing day.
With the busy winter fixture proving to be a tricky business, Guardiola will hope to not lose any more players this week. He was recently quoted saying that he would be needing 32 players ideally to compete for the quadruple and adding Pellegrini to an attack that already consists of the likes of Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva. Although how much game time the young Italian will get should he move to Manchester City, remains to be seen.
