Chelsea have gotten off to an enterprising start which saw them spending time with the Manchester clubs at the top of the table before faltering against Swansea where they dropped 2 points. Antonio Conte has visibly re-energised this Chelsea team who were on a freefall last season before being rescued somewhat by Guus Hiddink who oversaw a 10th place finish for the Blues. But all hasn’t been well for Chelsea this season.
Though they were successful in putting the points up on the board till now, the team lacked a balance in defence and attack. And their new signing N’Golo Kante was seen holding onto the pieces together in midfield. All the other midfielders have been subject to scrutiny during the transfer window with the likes of Oscar, Matic and Fabregas linked with exits. But 4 matches into the season, Fabregas’ name has remained amongst potential exits from the club and a latest report links him with an exit as early as January. We look at 3 possible clubs the former Arsenal and Barcelona man can move to in case his playing minutes fails to increase.
JUVENTUS
The Serie A favourites are long time admirers of the Spaniard and it is believed they would rival any bid made for the former Barça star. The Italian champions have money to burn having recouped the big bucks spent on Gonzalo Higuain from the sale of Paul Pogba to Manchester United. Juventus have not yet properly replaced Pogba and the relatively languid nature of the Italian league is expected to suit the deep lying playmaking nature of Fabregas.
AC MILAN
Chelsea are unlikely to let their player leave for any direct Premier League rival and thus an exit from the English top flight seems a certainty. AC Milan have new Chinese owners backing them and it is understood that Fabregas in on top of their shopping list as they are willing to dig deep into their pockets during the January transfer window.
PSG
The reigning French champions have started off poorly in their new campaign and are in an unfamiliar position of 7th in the points table. Used to winning games day in day out, this will be a new experience for the team. And someone like Cesc Fabregas who loves the glitz and glamour of big clubs might be a good fit for them. The club will not be hindered by any financial issues with the wage nor with the transfer fee and a deep lying player of the stature of Fabregas would bring stability to their team.
