Brazilian winger Malcom had been linked with a move to Arsenal previously according to reports. The 20-year-old winger who is currently playing for French club FC Girondins Bordeaux has previously been linked to Inter Milan and Wolfsburg.
Latest reports now have linked the player with a move to Old Trafford.
The player moved to France in 2016 and has since gone on to impress many people around Europe. He is off to a very impressive start this season and has already scored 7 Ligue 1 goals this season and added 5 more assists.
The versatile winger can play on either wing or in attack and has also featured for Brazil’s U-20 and U-23 sides. Manchester United scout has identified the dynamic young winger as a potential replacement and it is now being reported that Jose Mourinho wants to bring in the 20-year-old in January for 40 million pounds.
Reports have strengthened after it was learnt that the player has been taking English lessons in France in a bid to adjust to life in England. His Instagram story where he was seen learning the language can be a strong indicator of the fact that a move to England is imminent.
However, Bordeaux had strongly indicated last month that a move for the player in January was out of the question. ‘
He will not leave this winter,’ the Ligue 1 club’s president Stephane Martin told L’Equipe. ‘What if we go an immediate loan deal back? I don’t see that being in the interests of the club to do that. ‘We have not spoken about it and it is not something we are working on.’
As for Manchester United, it is no big news that the Red Devils are in the market for a winger. Mourinho was desperate to add a wide man back last summer and having missed out on a major signing in that position, it seems that the Portuguese could be getting his desired player this time around.
If Malcom were to move to Jose’s United, it will propose a daunting prospect for the opposition. Malcom will complete the team consisting the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and it would be dream come true for United fans to see a team of such raw pace and power rain in goals at Old Trafford. All this, of course, will only happen given a move is made and Malcom chooses to opt for Manchester United.
