A thrilling Boxing Day contest between West Ham United and Bournemouth ended 3-3 at the Dean Court.
David Moyes’ men opened up the scoring early in the first half but allowed Bournemouth to equalise in the 29th minute. Dan Gosling hammered in the ball through the crowded opposition box as soon as it fell into his way.
The Hammers looked like they were gonna snatch a win away from Eddie Howe’s side after Marko Arnautovic tapped in the rebound off of the rebound from Asmir Begovic’s in the 89th minute.
But Bournemouth were in no mood to lose at home tonight as they came storming back with a late injury-time equaliser.
Nathan Ake’s header into the far corner was first rejected but after consulting with the assistant referee Stuart Attwell deemed it to be fair as both sides ended the night with one point each.
West Ham Player Ratings :
Adrian – 5/10
Could have handled the cross better which lead to Gosling’s equaliser.
James Collins – 7/10
Scored with a bullet header at the near post to get his side the early lead. The confidence from the goal favoured him with a solid display at the back.
Angelo Ogbonna – 6/10
Tracked the runs of the opposition strikers really well.
Aaron Cresswell – 5/10
Not his usual spot at the defensive back 3 and looked a bit uncomfortable. Almost gifted the opposition an easy goal in the later stages.
Pablo Zabaleta – 4/10
Got caught in the wrong position on multiple occasions. Did not have much impact offensively either.
Cheikhou Kouyate – 3/10
Does not have the quality to appear in the central midfield role and it showed today. Allowed the opposition to run free around the centre circle.
Pedro Obiang – 5/10
He fell short of his defensive duties often.
Arthur Masuaku – 6/10
He was his usual self down the left flank and put in dangerous balls into the box. His late cross assisted Arnautovic for the late goal.
Manuel Lanzini – 5/10
Nothing out of the ordinary. Worked hard to create chances but could not link up the key passes.
Marko Arnautovic – 8/10
The star man for the Hammers with a brace to end the night. He came alive in the second half and forced his dominance on the Bournemouth defence.
Substitutes :
Javier Hernandez – 6/10
An energetic poacher is always tough to handle as the Mexican’s fresh legs were too much for the Bournemouth defence.
Andy Carroll – 5/10
Combined well with Hernandez to put the pressure on the opposition.
