Serie A player, Bryan Cristante has revealed that Chelsea are interested in his services along with Manchester United. Playing in the Premier League is one of the career ambitions of Cristante and it might come true with the January transfer window right around the corner.
Cristante is currently serving a season-long loan spell in Atalanta from Benfica with an option for the Italian side to sign him permanently for £3.5m at the end of 2017-2018 season. They will preferably profit almost ten times with Manchester United ready to bid £31m for the midfielder and Chelsea looking to rival them.
The Italian ace has been in sensational form recently, netting in 9 goals in 22 appearances. 3 of those goals came against Everton in Europe to help them secure a knockout place.
Cristante’s ball distribution quality, coupled with his strength and attacking prowess, will sit well with N’Golo Kante in the Chelsea lineup. Cesc Fabregas is no longer the first choice in the current set up under Conte with summer signing, Danny Drinkwater barely appearing for the side in the Premier League.
Tiémoué Bakayoko is the chosen one to start for the Blues alongside Kante and has so far been questionable in terms of quality. His technical abilities still need sharpening with the Frenchman often times falling short in his duties.
Cristante can be the man to replace him and take over the creative duties behind the likes of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata up front.
He appeared only 7 times for Benfica ever since he moved there from AC Milan and has been on loan since January 2016. He played a short spell in Palermo and then the previous season for Pescara.
The Italian is amongst the many youngsters like Keita Balde Diao and Nicola Barella, who are impressing a lot of scouts in the Serie A.
Chelsea’s weekend draw against Everton might just have killed off their contention for the league title with leaders Manchester City 16 points ahead of them. However, they are still a threat in Europe set to face Barcelona in the round of 16 of the Champions League and can push off Jose Mourinho’s team from the 2nd spot of the points table.
Conte is determined to finish the season on a strong note and will be looking to add more quality to the side in the January transfer window. It will be interesting to see who he adds to the squad to spearhead their campaign to a strong finish.
