Burnley will take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium in Brighton on Saturday in what promises to an entertaining game of football between two exciting British managers. Sean Dyche’s men have secured two 1-0 wins on the spin after losing to Leicester City by the same scoreline a few weeks ago. Their recent form has seen them climb up to sixth place in the Premier League standings. The Seagulls, on the other hand, has suffered three losses in a row which has seen them slump to 13th place in the league table. However, Chris Hughton would be confident about his team’s chances on Saturday as it is a home game where Brighton has performed relatively well this season.
The recent history of this fixture doesn’t make good reading for the Clarets as Burnley has not tasted victory in their last six league encounters against Brighton. However, a lot has changed since their last meeting as both teams are now plying their trade in the Premier League. Sean Dyche is expected to line up in his favoured 4-4-1-1 formation and might bring back Ben Mee to the starting eleven.
4-4-1-1 Burnley Predicted Lineup Vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Defence
Nick Pope is in line to start again in goal for the Clarets following his man of the match display against Stoke City. He might be shielded by a back four consisting of Ben Mee and James Tarkowski at the heart of the defence while Phil Bardsley takes his place at right-back and Stephen Ward plays as the left-back.
The success of this Burnley team has been built on their defence this season. The Clarets have just conceded 12 goals in 17 Premier League matches so far which is the second best defensive record in the division. We can expect another tight performance at the back by Sean Dyche’s men.
Midfield
Jack Cork and Steven Defour will start for the Clarets at the centre of the park with Scott Arfield hugging the left touchline while Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson plays on the right flank. It will up to the midfield four to help their defence and also provide support to Jeff Hendrick and Chris Wood in the final third.
Attack
Jeff Hendrick is expected to play behind the striker, Chris Wood who will lead the line for Burnley. Sean Dyche may call upon the services of Ashley Barnes from the bench if required after the forward scored a late winner against Stoke City on Wednesday night.
