Tottenham Hotspur have finally found some form in the domestic league, but have a huge task to cut out, if they are to climb back up the points table, into the top4 spots. Mauricio Pochettino will want his side to find some consistency this season but will have an eye on the future, with a couple of his first-team players, closing in on the exit door.
The likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli are all wanted in Spain and the latest name that has added to the list is Hugo Lloris. The French international is the first choice shot-stopper for the Whites but reports suggest that Spanish champions Real Madrid are desperate for a goal-keeper and have decided to spend on Lloris. He has a contract at the club till 2022, so Pochettino will not be too worried but if he does end up losing him, here are three replacements he should scout for:
Peter Gulacsi (RB Leipzig):
The former Liverpool man has slowly but surely established himself as one of the most consistent players in the Bundesliga and is the first choice for German club Leipzig this season. He has been in excellent form under the bar and has already been linked with a move back to England. He failed to impress on his stint at Anfield but has grown as a player already and is wanted by the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, who are desperate for him. But if Spurs lose Lloris, they can give Gulacsi a first-team spot, which could be enough to lure him.
Jack Butland (Stoke City):
The future no.1 of the English national team, Jack Butland, is also one of the best youngsters in his position in Europe. He has his frailties but is surely working on them, putting in some match-winning performances for the Potters already. At just 24, he is only getting better and is wanted by a host of clubs in the English top-flight. The likes of Chelsea are constantly scouting for him but if a first team spot is open under Pochettino, Butland will have no problem taking it with both hands.
Keylor Navas (Real Madrid):
The Real Madrid man is one of the most decorated players in his position in Europe at the moment but is not really impressing the Los Blancos faithful, who want him replaced. Zinedine Zidane is trying to find an able replacement for more than a year now and if he has decided to put his money on Lloris, there is no reason for Spurs to bring Navas the other way. The Costa Rican international is a solid shot-stopper but is not at his best when under pressure. But at 30, he is experienced and is a superb replacement for Lloris, if he leaves.
