West Ham United will be full of confidence when they host a mighty Arsenal at the London Stadium in the midweek Premier League action. The Hammers are still fresh from their 1-0 victory over Chelsea and David Moyes would like to use the same formula to give his side their second consecutive win this season.
The East Londoners breathed life into their campaign with a commanding victory over the defending champion and they need to act strongly against the North Londoners.
Arsenal struggled against Southampton and they had to rely on Olivier Giroud who rescued the Gunners with a very late goal. West Ham do have the resource to upset the Gunners and they cannot be complacent.
The win against Chelsea was David Moyes’ first as a hammers manager and he would certainly fancy another shot against their London rivals. Arsenal have been sloppy a number of times this season and in front of a vociferous crowd, it would be an immense challenge for them to come out on top.
Predicted 3-4-2-1 West Ham United Starting lineup Against Arsenal
Defence
Adrian has kept the hammers in the hunt so Moyes is likely to rely on his number two again.
The hammers backline was pretty solid against Chelsea and they will face another stern test against Alexis Sanchez and co.
Aaron Cresswell was simply brilliant against the Blues and he will keep his place in the starting lineup. Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid will complete the three-man backline.
Midfield
Mark Noble has to be extra careful in the midfield. There is a sense of optimism following the last match and the hammers veteran needs to carry it to the next match.
Pedro Obiang will try to push the side on the up from the middle of the park.
Pablo Zabaleta has been very entertaining since his summer arrival at the London Stadium. The Argentine international will be on the right side of the defence while Arthur Masuaku will be on the left side.
Attack
Manuel Lanzini has been the most creative player in this Hammers side and the Argentine international will be in the thick of things. He will operate just behind the main striker.
Marko Arnautovic scored an early goal against the Blues which eventually proved to be the decider. He will be expecting similar things against the Gunners.
Michail Antonio started as a lone forward and he will lead the line against Arsenal.
