Celtic are due to face Hibernian on Sunday at the Easter Road Stadium for their sixteenth game of the Scottish Premiership. The Hoops lost their Championship group stage fixture against Anderlecht at the Celtic Park and would look forward to clinching a win in the upcoming fixture.
The reigning Scottish champions have been fantastic in the Scottish top division so far this season, having collected 37 points from 15 games and are placed at the top of the league table. They have an unbeaten run of 67 games in the domestic competitions and would be keen to extend it further.
Hibernian are also doing well this season, being placed at the 4th spot with 29 points from 16 games. Here is how Brendan Rodgers is expected to place his starting line-up in order to face the Hibs this weekend.
Defence
Craig Gordon can’t be blamed for Jozo Simunovic’s own goal against Anderlecht and should once again keep start as a goalkeeper between the sticks for the Celts.
Anthony Ralston remains unavailable, and thus, Dedryck Boyata is seemingly likely to be placed at the central defence, alongside Simunovic, who did look quite convincing in the Champions League fixture apart from that mistake which handed his side a loss.
From the left-back position, the impressive youngster in the shape of Kieran Tierney should continue to keep his place and showcase his industry and calibre whereas, at the right-back, Mikael Lustig is anticipated to be used by Rodgers yet again.
Midfield
The duo comprising of Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown should be marshalling the middle of the park. While Brown has been consistent so far this season and rightfully deserves his place, it would be wise to hand a start to Ntcham.
These two need to tailor the midfield and create sync among their teammates. Tom Rogic is anticipated to be starting as the no. 10 for the Bhoys. He has to fetch as much as possible to the forwards to do the damage.
Attack
Right up front, Moussa Dembele should be spearheading Celtic’s attack. The Frenchman has smashed 4 goals in the Scottish Premiership so far and would be keen to add a goal or two more against Lennon’s side.
From the left-wing, Scott Sinclair is expected to start despite his poor showing in the Champions League fixture and he certainly would need to up his game. The right-wing should be afforded to James Forrest in the absence of Patrick Roberts.
