Borussia Dortmund will host fellow strugglers Werder Bremen as they aim to get back to winning ways. In what could prove to be Peter Bosz’s last game in charge of BVB, should he fail to win against Bremen, Dortmund will be eager to prove a point after a disappointing defeat to Real Madrid in the midweek.
The black and yellows are winless in the league for over two months now and an upturn of fortunes is imperative in order to recover their stuttering form in recent weeks. Werder, on the other hand, will be looking to escape from the danger zone with a victory against the German giants. Die Grunweissen are currently 17th on the table but a win could potentially lift them up to 15th position by the end of this matchday.

Defence
Roman Burki will stay in goal for the Black and Yellows. The Swiss International couldn’t do much to save Dortmund from conceding three goals against the mighty Real Madrid but will be prepared against a dangerous Werder attack.
Head coach Peter Bosz is likely to stick with the similar three at the back formation, in an attempt to gain more possession.
Sokratis will partner alongside Marcel Schmelzer and Neven Subotic as the three central defenders. Schmelzer was particularly impressive against Real Madrid, as he made a few crucial interceptions and occasionally marched forward to help out the attack. His terrific assist for Aubameyang’s first goal was the highlight of his performance against Madrid.
Marc Bartra is expected to be replaced with Jeremy Toljan. He will be deployed as the right wingback while Raphael Guerreiro will keep his place in the side by starting as the left wingback.
Midfield
Julian Weigl could be given a starting berth in the team, after being left out on the bench in midweek. The German International is a vital cog in midfield for Borussia Dortmund. He will partner another impressive youngster in Mahmoud Dahoud in the centre of the park.
Experienced midfielder Nuri Sahin will most probably be left out on the bench for this clash.
Attack
The attacking lineup will also remain unchanged from midweek’s Champions League game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will lead the attack, supported by Shinji Kagawa and Christian Pulisic, on the flanks.
