Wolves are set to travel to the St. Andrew’s Stadium as they take on Birmingham City in a very interesting encounter. Two teams are currently poles apart when it comes to their current form.
Wolves have been pretty ruthless on their road to the top but Steve Cotterill’s side has been pretty badly exposed in the second tier as they are submerged deep into the relegation zone.
This match could be more of a redemption for the Blues as they can kick-start their revival by upsetting Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. Wolves have balanced the acts quite beautifully so far as they have dealt all the negativity with sheer confident.
Santo has been able to instil confidence in his players and team has performed like a single unit. Cardiff City have been breathing on their neck as they are just one point behind the league leaders but Wolves will have the chance to increase the gap to four points as they have played a match less than them.
Predicted 3-4-3 Wolves Starting Lineup Vs Birmingham City
Defence
John Ruddy has been pretty excellent between the crossbars this season as he barely had a mistake. The former Norwich City keeper is set to feature in this match once again.
Santo has kept the three-man backline intact and he is likely to use this setup in a bid to prevent the Blues attacker from making any damage.
Willy Boly, Ryan Bennett and captain Conor Coady will be at the helm of the Wolves backline.
Midfield
Ruben Navas has been quite sensational as he has left a great an influence on the team since his arrival but the Portuguese gaffer won’t be able to have his service as the midfielder is serving an automatic one-match ban after accumulating five yellow cards.
Alfred N’Diaye will be filling in his absence and the 27-year-old has a very tough task cut out for him in the next match against the Blues.
Romain Saiss will keep his position in the starting lineup as he will be assisting N’Diaye in the middle of the pitch.
Matt Doherty will be in the right wingback position while Rúben Vinagre will be on the opposite side.
Attack
Three-pronged attack system has worked well so far so Santo will stick to his plan. Diogo Jota will be having a shot from the left wing while Ivan Cavaleiro will operate from the right side.
Leo Bonatini will lead the attack for Wolves.
