Burnley has made a terrific start to their Premier League campaign but suffered a heart-breaking loss at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday. They lost to the Gunners after conceding a late stoppage-time penalty at Turf Moor. Sean Dyche will now look to rally his troops and immediately bounce back against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Cherries, on the other hand, have found their winning touch of late but could only secure a scoreless draw at Swansea City. Eddie Howe’s men are hovering above the relegation zone and could do with a win against Burnley at Dean Court. Three of their four Premier League victories have come at home at the Vitality Stadium this season. So their squad will be quietly confident about their chances against a wounded Burnley team.
It is expected that Sean Dyche will opt to make some tweaks for this clash and may hand Chris Wood a starting place of Ashley Barnes to try and lead this Burnley attack. The Cherries secured a narrow 2-1 victory over the Clarets in this fixture last season. We can once again expect another tightly contested match where either team could come away with the three points by scoring the odd goal.
4-4-1-1 Burnley Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
With Nick Pope starting between the posts, the Clarets are in line to start with the same back four that were used in the Arsenal game. So Nick Pope is set to continue in goal for Burnley. He will be protected by the defensive four of Matthew Lowton at right-back, Ben Mee and James Tarkowski in central defence and Stephen Ward plying his trade at left-back.
The Burnley defence has just conceded 10 goals this season and would be hoping to keep the Bournemouth attack at bay.
Midfield
The Icelandic international, Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson has been in good form lately and will continue on the right side of the Burnley midfield while Robbie Brady will look to use his pace and trickery on the left. The excellent central midfield partnership of Steven Defour and Jack Cork has surprised a lot of people. Their work ethic signifies how their manager, Sean Dyche wants his team to play. The Clarets have made a great start to this season and their success has been based on their desire and hunger to fight for every ball and this midfield duo has been at the heart of it all.
Attack
Jeff Hendrick should slot in just behind the striker, Chris Wood, as a part of the Burnley offence. If Burnley are to win, then one of these two players need to have a lasting effect on the game.
