Arsenal added some extra spice to the Premier League title race as they defeated their North London rival Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the last match to hand themselves an advantage in the title push.
Although they are currently not in the frame to challenge for the title but the Premier League has been a very tight competition since its inception. So the Gunners would be looking forward to fancying their chances.
Arsene Wenger went on to splash the cash in the summer as he brought in Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon to boost his attacking prowess and the French forward has settled quite quickly at the Emirates.
But lack of attacking intent in the opposition final third has been a major problem for them and the veteran French gaffer would be looking for a solution in the January transfer window.
If reports are to be believed, Arsenal are interested in Turkish youngster Yusuf Yazici. The 20-year-old has long been on the target list of Wenger and the French gaffer might vest his interest in January.
The Turkish international has been a rage since the last season and the Gunners are ready to make a move for him. With Mesut Ozil’s future remains an uncertainty, the Gunners are spoiled for choices for the German star’s replacement.
Yusuf is just 20 years old and is touted to be the future of Turkish football. He broke into the scene last season and since then hasn’t looked back, craving a permanent niche for himself in the Trabzonspor starting lineup.
An out and out no. 10, the youngster can also be deployed on the flanks. Incidentally, Yusuf is represented by the same agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, who also happens to be the representative of Ozil. His intervening in this matter could hand Arsenal a big advantage and if Ozil is to leave, it could be a win-win situation for the North London giants.
Severe lack of intention has caused major problems for the Gunners, as the likes of Alexis Sanchez has been pretty quiet this season. The Chilean hasn’t performed to his potential and Wenger seems to be not happy with the attacking display offered by his side.
Arsenal have reportedly tabled a bid in the region of £14m but the Turkish side are holding for more. The attacking midfielder racked up 10 assists and six goals last season, which is indeed a very encouraging sign for a player of his age. The Gunners are likely to renew their offer in a bid to bring the player as soon as possible.
