Bayern Munich will travel to Belgium as they face RSC Anderlecht in their UEFA Champions League encounter on Wednesday. The German champions will be full of confidence, after their 3:0 thrashing of Augsburg last weekend, a win that propelled them six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.
The Bavarians will be desperate for a similar result as they look to pip PSG for the top spot on the table. Jupp Heynckes’ men need a win in this game and hope PSG drops points against Celtic in order to gain an advantage over their French counterpart.
Bayern will have a few injury issues prior to the game, but the Bavarians have strong enough depth to counter their injury crisis as it seems.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Bayern Munich Lineup Vs Anderlecht
Defence
Sven Ulreich will continue serving Bayern as their deputy goalkeeper for first-choice keeper Manuel Neuer, who is out with a long-term injury. The former Stuttgart man was excellent against Augsburg and will be looking to keep up his good form intact.
Joshua Kimmich looks set for another start on the right back position for Bayern. While Juan Bernat will take charge of the left back spot. The centre-back pairing will comprise of Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels. The latter has been in fine form this season, and may as well lead the Bayern Munich from the back.
Midfield
Star playmaker Thiago Alcantara was caught with a slight niggle in the knee but is expected to be fit for the Belgium clash. However, Jupp Heynckes will not be taking any risk against one of the minnows of the Champions League this season. Therefore, Sebastian Rudy could be handed a starting berth in midfield, alongside out of sorts Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Elsewhere, Corentin Tolisso might get a starting berth in the team. The French midfielder hasn’t quite impressed since arriving from Lyon this summer, but a good performance this midweek could boost his confidence. He will start as the central attacking midfielder on the night.
Attack
Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for FC Bayern. The Pole scored a brace in the game against Augsburg, bagging 13 goals in just 12 games in the Bundesliga. He will be full of confidence and belief as Bayern look to strike some blows to their Belgian opponents.
James Rodriguez has been the man of the moment for FC Bayern in recent games. The Colombian attacker is in sizzling hot form and is more than expected to start against Anderlecht this midweek. Bayern fans will count on him to make an impact on proceedings. He will partner Arjen Robben on the wide positions for FC Bayern.
