Chelsea are finally playing like the team who went on to win the title last year. The Blues demolished West Bromwich Albion 4-0 with an extremely professional and disciplined performance. Here is a look at the player ratings for the match tonight
Thibaut Courtois: 7.5
Could not have asked for a more relaxed and calm evening as returned to Premier League action. A much needed clean sheet however for the Belgian this season, it will definitely boost his confidence going into the intense of run of games that lie ahead.
Davide Zappacosta: 7.5
He has quickly developed himself as a quality player in the league. Rarely puts a foot wrong and always covers at the back. He prefers to keep the game simple as he did again tonight and is very effective in sending balls into the box.
Cesar Azpilicueta: 8
On a bad day for the Blues, he stands out as a good performer. On a good day, he simply does not commit a single mistake. His game is growing in confidence as was evident with his darting runs forward to pile on men on an easy night for the Blues.
Andreas Christensen: 8.5
A commanding display yet again at the back controlling Rondon and is rapidly replacing David Luiz in the team.
Gary Cahill: 7.5
An easy night for the Blues captain as West Brom failed to provide any attacking threat.
Marcos Alonso: 8.5
Not for no reason is he the highest scoring defender for the Blues since his arrival. The left-back is getting better at his job every day and capped his performance tonight with an impressive goal.
N’Golo Kante: 8
Again the man Chelsea love to have sitting in front of their defence and in behind the attack. He makes the transition smooth and nobody can win a ball better than N’Golo.
Cesc Fabregas: 9
Relieved of his tiring defensive duties, the Spaniard thrived on the match today notching up two impressive assists.
Tiemoue Bakayoko: 7
Still Chelsea’s weakest link on the pitch. However, West Brom’s lack of fight meant that Bakayoko’s casual passing was not the highlight of Chelsea’s game.
Eden Hazard: 9
Absolutely magical on the night, scoring two goals and setting up one. He single-handedly took down West Bromwich in the first half.
Alvaro Morata: 8.5
Another match, another goal for Morata. He continues to enjoy his dream start to life in England.
Substitutes:
Willian: 6.5
Came on at a time when the match was effectively over and kept things rolling till the final whistle.
Pedro: 6.5
Another player who had nothing much to do as Chelsea were already 4-0 up when he arrive.
Danny Drinkwater: 6.5
Conte is slowly introducing him back into the fold and games like these really help recovering players get back in the groove as their very little pressure when they come on.
