Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been simply untouchable and they continued their glorious form at the King Power after defeating Leicester City. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne were enough to get another three vital points on the road. Here’s how the Blues from Manchester have been rated:-
GK: Ederson – 7/10
His ball distribution was superb and he used his weak foot as well which was impressive again. He had to get the ball and handle it on few occasions and his decisive nature got the job done.
RB: Kyle Walker – 6.5/10
Patrolled the right with authority and he didn’t have to face trouble from the left at all.
CB: Vincent Kompany – 6/10
Took a booking for the team early on with a rash challenge but then he organized the team well after that just like a captain should. Made a few notable interventions and he will be crucial in this period for City.
CB: John Stones – 5/10
He pulled up on his leg and had to depart due to the injury.
LB: Fabian Delph – 6.5/10
Competed fiercely against Mahrez and fared well during several periods of the game. It’s been a major turnaround for him under Guardiola.
CM: Fernandinho – 5.5/10
He was decent today and stepped in whenever he was needed. Had a tough battle against Iborra too.
CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 9/10
He broke the freaking net with an astounding effort to score City’s second. That killed the game. Apart from this, his movement and passing was on a whole different level. He’s turned into a beautiful beast.
CM: David Silva – 8/10
Combined superbly with De Bruyne and the forwards as usual. His selfless football was depicted again as he lay it on the plate for Jesus for City’s first goal.
LW: Leroy Sane – 8.5/10
He troubled Simpson tirelessly and created so many chances. He’s grown into this team and any fullback is going to have a headache against him.
RW: Raheem Sterling – 7/10
A bit mediocre in comparison with others and he should have gotten to the end of some balls he got.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – 6/10
He’s a really lucky man that he gets graced with the deliveries from Silva, Sane, De Bruyne and sterling. He held his own and got the goal for City. Decent but effective.
Substitutes:-
CB: Eliaquim Mangala – 6/10
City needed him to step up after Stones suffered an injury and he did a tidy job. Needs to improve a little on his passing but he should only get better from here.
FW: Bernardo Silva – N/A
Came on really late and can’t be rated.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – N/A
Came on late and can’t be rated as well.
