Arsenal have dominated the North London over the years but present circumstances have enforced them as the second best team with Tottenham Hotspur being the superior team.
Spurs’ recent emergence have somehow dealt a blow to Arsenal’s who used to be one of the main strike forces in the Premier League. But Tottenham have shown the Gunners are no more the main threat as Arsene Wenger’s side have failed to justify their character.
Tottenham are scheduled to visit the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners what could be an interesting encounter. Spurs are currently in the third place while their arch-rivals remain a distant sixth.
Much is depending on the outcome of the match as a win over Spurs will help Wenger’s side to reduce the deficit with the top four places provided the rest of the biggies win their respective matches.
Predicted 3-5-2 Tottenham Hotspur Starting Lineup Against Arsenal
Defence
Hugo Lloris has been carrying an injury but the Spurs captain has returned to training and now will be in the goal to guard their goal. The French international hasn’t got the credit what he should have gotten.
With Toby Alderweireld out injured Pochettino is likely to go ahead with a three-man defence. Eric Dier will drop into the backline to provide cover. Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez will be alongside him to nullify the Arsenal attack.
Midfield
The five-man midfield system has been extensively used by the Argentine manager this season. In Victor Wanyama’s absence, Harry Winks will fill in the anchor position. The English youngster has shown the ability and the gaffer would be relying on him.
Christian Eriksen has gone on to another level in the last couple of seasons. The Danish playmaker remains the core part of the Spurs side and his form would be very important. He has been one of the most underrated players in the Premier League but doesn’t get the credit.
Dele Alli will be alongside him in the midfield to provide the team with the cutting edge in the midfield.
Ben Davies should make a start in the left wing-back role. The Wales international have performed brilliantly in the absence of Danny Rose and should find him in that position.
Serge Aurier will be on the right side.
Attack
Harry Kane has been the main provider of goals and the onus will be on him to deliver. He will have the assistance of the South Korean Ace Heung-Min Son.
