Chelsea have seemingly hit good form off late in the Premier League and secured a famous win over their bitter rivals Manchester United in their last encounter. This victory helps the Blues keep their position intact among the top four and their hopes alive to retain the coveted Premier League title.
However, the reigning champions have been hit by a series of injuries since the start of the season, which has deterred their progress towards accomplishing a seventh title in the Premier League. This has resulted in Chelsea looking at other options in the near future and the club management is already looking for viable options to be recruited.
Among a few top targets, the name of the Spanish youngster Isco has burst into the scene, considering an interview in which his compatriot and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has said that he wants the Real Madrid midfielder to join the West London club. He has even claimed he is going to bring Isco along next time when he returns to Chelsea.
‘I would take [Isco] to Chelsea now when I return [from the Spanish camp]’
This has sparked speculations regarding a potential bid by the Premier League giants for the 25-year-old star in the near future to strengthen their midfield and help them achieve their dream of winning back to back Premier League titles once again. However, it is going to take a special effort from them to make it happen as Real Madrid are in no mood to let go of their midfield maestro.
Moreover, the reigning Spanish champions are themselves in dire straits given their current form in the La Liga as well as Champions League and Isco is one of the very few players who has performed consistently for them since the start of the season. So, to let him go in the January transfer window looks next to impossible for the Galacticos as it will definitely leave a big hole in their midfield.
Reportedly, the ex-Malaga player has a humongous release clause of €700 million on his new contract, which he signed in August 2017 with Los Blancos. It also sees him stay back at the Santiago Bernabeu till 2022 and with the kind of form he is currently in, there might be no reason good enough for the reigning European champions to let go of their gem.
The Spanish star has starred in all 11 matches in the La Liga this season, scoring four goals and handing out three assists, making his presence on the side even more important for Los Merengues.
