Leeds United are having a tough time in the Championship this season despite starting brightly in the opening stages. The Whites have succumbed to a total of seven defeats in their first sixteen matches so far and are currently stranded on the tenth position on the league table.
The Elland Road club were beaten in their last match at the hands of Brentford by 3-1, putting their backline in shambles. The consolidated effort of the players which was seen at the earlier stages of the season is presently missing and this has put their manager Thomas Christiansen in deep trouble this season.
Despite the despair, the Whites might be happy to see one of their talented youngsters back in the camp in the form of Bailey Peacock-Farrell from his loan stint at York City. The 21-year-old was sent on a short loan stint of one month to the aforementioned club and made appearances in all the four matches played since his arrival at the club beneath the crossbars.
Known for his quick thinking and decent ball handling, the player has already made a name for himself in the Championship level. However, he was not able to display his best skills during his loan spell with York City, as he conceded nine goals in four matches for the side. Out of them, only one was won by York City while another one was drawn and the verdicts in the other two encounters went against them.
However, it does not seem to be the end of the road for the 21-year-old Northern Ireland custodian as the Whites are well aware of his qualities and that he needs proper nurturing to transform his game in the near future. Christiansen will be happy to have him back at his disposal and might look to use him in the near future, with both the first and second choice goalkeepers Andy Lonergan and Felix Weidwald not playing up to the mark at the present moment.
The player, however, has not made any appearances for Leeds United since April 2016, when he played against Queens Park Rangers in a 2-2 draw. There is also a possibility that the player might be sent on another loan stint in the near future for more exposure to first-team football.
Though his club career seems to be in a bot of jeopardy at the moment, his international career with Northern Ireland has already got off to a good start as the young shot-stopper was selected in the senior squad earlier this year, helping his career to flourish.
