Championship outfit, Wolverhampton Wanderers, have made a riveting start to their league season under the tutelage of Nuno Espirito Santo. After 16 games in the English second division, the Wolves have collected 35 points and are currently placed at the top of the league table. Besides, their wins against Norwich City and Fulham must have bolstered their morale and it goes without saying that they appear to be a side capable enough to earn a promotion to the Premier League.
Espirito Santo isn’t likely to be complacent and he is expected to beef up the quality of his arsenal in the upcoming January transfer window. They have indeed created a galvanizing pedestal for themselves and they should refrain from falling into the clutches of mediocrity, and that can materialize by keeping their momentum going. The Wanderers have apparently started to vouch for exciting options and one of the players who have fallen on their radar is West Bromwich Albion’s forward, Tyler Roberts.
Currently plying his trade on loan with League One side, Walsall, Roberts has attracted a lot of attention after having scored 4 goals in 12 appearances so far this season. Apart from interests from the likes of Swansea City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sunderland, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also monitoring him very closely, for he is a commendable youngster with lot of potential on offer.
His string of stupendous outings has further assisted him in inking his name in the good books of football fraternity.
The 18-year-old possesses raw pace in his legs and that allows him to rattle past opposition’s defenders with relative ease. Roberts tries to make something happen in the final third, with his alertness helping him in the process, and he passes the ball in an astute manner too.
He is strong, skilful, energetic and so far, he has impressed (more often than not). His development process has been going on in a perfect manner and it isn’t really a surprise to see him getting linked with some big clubs in the game.
His contract expires at the end of the ongoing season and thus, West Brom would look to bag a decent transfer fee in January if he refuses to sign an extension with them.
Although he lacks much of experience under his belt, Roberts has shown that he is ready to play week in and week out for a notable side and it would make sense if Wolves attempt to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
