Arsenal faced a demoralising loss at the hands of the current league leaders Manchester City in their last encounter, which ended 3-1 in favour of the Citizens. This was their fourth loss of the season and saw the Gunners slip down to the sixth place in the league table.
The North London club were big spenders during the summer but it has been nothing more than a mixed start for them this season. They have managed to win six matches so far but have never looked menacing and are sorely lacking quality in their squad, especially in the middle of the pitch.
The Gunners are looking to make amends for their mistakes and turn the tide back in their favour, especially after having a dismal season in the last term, finishing outside the top four for the first time since 1998. They are looking desperate to add some new players to their side, who might help them to establish themselves as one of the prime forces in English top flight football once again this season.
One such player is the Turkish sensation Oghuzan Ozyakup, who is currently playing for the Super Lig club Besiktas. His performance has been excellent for the last couple of seasons and has helped his side to win the coveted title in the last term as well. His ominous presence in the midfield for the Black Eagles has helped them fly high this season as well, both in the domestic as well as European competitions.
His ability to keep possession of the ball for a significant amount of time and marshall the midfield with absolute dominance over the opposition has attracted the attention of a number of clubs including the North London outfit, which Ozyakup left in the year 2012 to join Besiktas.
The 25-year-old was a part of the Arsenal youth team for quite some time and proved to be an influential figure, leading to his selection in the senior squad as well. However, he only made two appearances for them and eventually left the North London club to join his current club in search of more chances.
Having established himself as a key figure for the Black Eagles, the midfielder has become a top transfer target for the Gunners this season as they are willing to add him to their lineup and are ready to table a reported bid of £10 million in the next transfer window.
But what can he add to the squad at the Emirates?
