Everton were once again humiliated by a rampant Lyon side in the Europa League match when they were taken to the swords by the French side. The Toffees faced another embarrassing loss by 3-0 to sum up their disappointing campaign this term. The loss was enough to send them packing home from the European tournament for this season.
Under the stewardship of their interim manager David Unsworth, the Merseyside club faced the French outfit. After playing a stalemate in the first half, Bertrand Traore broke the deadlock in the 68th minute and was followed by an opportunistic goal from Houssem Aouar in the 76th minute. The icing on the cake was presented by the former Manchester United reject Memphis Depay, who went on to score from a brilliant header in the 88th minute in order to seal the game for Lyon.
The ratings for the Everton players in this defeat are as follows.

Jonjoe Kenny- 5
The youngster had nothing much to do the whole evening and was left devastated after witnessing a rampage of sorts by the Lyon side at the Groupama Stadium.
Mason Holgate- 4
The English defender tried to justify his selection to the fullest but was not able to keep the opponents at bay and gave away the advantage.
Ashley Williams- 5
The experienced Welshman had another match to forget and witnessed another embarrassing defeat to see themselves ousted from the Europa League.
Cuco Martina- 2
Experienced a horrific fall and was rushed to the hospital in the 43rd minute. However, he is now out of danger and has been released from the hospital.

His irresponsibility cost his team the match, as the Frenchman earned a second yellow in the 80th minute and was sent for an early shower, reducing his side to 10 men.

Was indeed an eventful week for the youngster as he played his first match in the Premier League as well as in the Europa League. However, he ended up on the losing side on both occasions.
Idrissa Gueye- 2
Was nowhere near his good form and was left as a spectator as Lyon tore down the resistance from Toffees to shreds.

The English had nothing much to offer in the one-sided affair and was substituted in the 71st minute by Nicola Vlasic.
Gylfi Sigurdsson- 4
Led the attack in the absence of Wayne Rooney and Oumar Niasse but was completely ineffective during the whole length of the match.
