Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane might just be the next high profile transfer that we are about to see next summer. The English International, who has been a consistent goal-scorer in the Premier League for the past three seasons, is now a subject of some significant interest from top clubs around Europe.
Spurs have listed a stunning €200 million price tag for the services of Harry Kane, as per reports. However, the same reports suggest that Real Madrid are plotting a grand swap deal in order lure the Englishman into the Spanish capital.
Luka Modric is to be the prime candidate, involved in this switch, as Los Blancos do their best to avoid spending a fortune for Harry Kane. The former Tottenham superstar is slowly nearing his end to life at Real Madrid, with the club already looking for potential replacements for a foreseeable future.
Although Modric still has three years left on his current contract, the narrative of him leaving the Santiago Bernabeu sooner rather than later does not seem far-fetched analogy at all.
On the flip side, of course, the Croatian midfield maestro will be welcome at Spurs. Since leaving the White Hart Lane in the summer of 2012, the 32-year-old will surely love to go back to his former club. In fact, Spurs are actually in need of a midfielder who can turn the tides around for them. and in the meantime, there’s no better suitor than Luka Modric.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will also be boosted by the arrival of Harry Kane. Many experts believe that the 25-year-old could be a perfect replacement for Karim Benzema, whose performance in recent seasons hasn’t been remarkable. Furthermore, aged just 25, Kane will provide Real Madrid with some scope for the future, and Los Blancos can build their team around the England International.
However, Tottenham Hotspur might turn out to be the losers of this deal, considering the fact that Luka Modric is already 32 years old. While it may aid them in the meantime, but for the long term, Modric won’t be of any use.
Harry Kane has already caught enough attention to be ignored in the transfer market(for his humongous asking fee), and we might as well see a transfer battle in the nigh future for the services of their star forward. Therefore, rejecting the initial offer from Real Madrid seems like the most logical decision for the Spurs board at the moment.
