Everton are in the middle of one of their worst seasons in the Premier League, winning only a couple out of the nine matches they have played so far. The Toffees have been outclassed in every department, which has led them to currently stand on the 18th position in the league table.
Since the departure of their former manager Ronald Koeman, the Toffees are playing under the stewardship of their interim coach David Unsworth. Their last match in the Premier League against Arsenal was the one which saw them lose by 5 goals to 2 and that provided the final nail in the coffin for the Dutchman’s tenure.
The Merseyside club are eyeing redemption and will look to bounce back in the near future. They are well aware of the fact that the road to revival will not be easy by any means and they will have to fight back fiercely, starting against Leicester City, their immediate competitors in the next match in Premier League.
Their probable starting eleven can look somewhat like this.
Defence
Despite having top class defenders at their disposal, the Toffees have failed to restrict their opponents. There is a chance that Everton might go in with a four-man defence in their next match, led by their captain Leighton Baines, along with the likes of Michael Keane, Ashley Williams and Mason Holgate, who will look to stop the Foxes from scoring against their side.
Jordan Pickford will play in the goal for the Toffees.
Midfield
The Everton midfield has underperformed throughout the season and has let their side down every time they have taken the field. However, the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies and Davy Klaassen will need to put the disappointments behind them and lead Everton to a good game against the Foxes, helping them to fight their way back to a better position on the league table.
Attack
The legendary English striker Wayne Rooney has been the only ray of hope for the Toffees, having scored four out of their seven goals so far this term. He will have to lead the line once again for the Toffees, hoping to help them to a much-needed win to save the season.
The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert Lewin will need to use all their creativity on this trip to the King Power. Here is how they might line up:
