On a roll. That is the most appropriate term to describe the kind of form Manchester City are currently in. The Citizens have not only won all their matches but one so far this season in all competitions, they have done it with absolute dominance over the opposition and are currently on the top of the ladder in the Premier League.
The Manchester club spent well in the summer transfer window, making a number of top class signings to strengthen their team and achieve a much better result than the last term. They might look to do the same in the future as well, helping their side to continue their rampage in the top flight.
The Citizens are eyeing a number of young prospects to be added to their side and are reportedly interested in the French defender Mouctar Diakhaby. The 2o-year-old is currently a part of the France Under 21 national squad and is playing for the Ligue 1 club, Lyon.
Given his towering presence at the heart of the backline for Lyon, the player has attracted a lot of interests from the top clubs in Europe and is tipped for a move to the English Premier League in the near future. The French youngster has made 39 appearances so far for the Ligue 1 club and is considered as one of the best young centre-backs in French football.
Manchester City have a very strong defensive lineup and they have shown their mettle since the start of this season. Though the likes of Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones have not shown any complacency, the absence of their inspirational captain Vincent Kompany might be a detriment for them in the future.
Manchester City have been monitoring the youngster for quite some time and might bring him into the side to strengthen their defensive lineup even more. The Citizens are known for nurturing a number of talented young players and Mouctar Diakhaby can be a very good addition to their squad.
Apart from his ability to put in strong, well-timed tackles, the young centre-back is also feared for his ominous presence in the air and his ability to score goals at the other end. The 20-year-old has already put the ball in the back of the opposition net six times in the 39 appearances he has made for Lyon, which is definitely going to be an added advantage for him.
City need a top class defender to go all the way but is Diakhaby the right man?
