Manchester City are currently doing brilliantly in the Premier League as well as in the Champions League and have not lost any of their matches so far this season. The Citizens will be expected to run riot at the Etihad Stadium when they face Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup this week.
The Manchester Club have won all their matches but two so far this season. Their players are demonstrating some great confidence consistently and are looking determined to bag silverware after their dull performance in the last term.
Though there are no significant injuries in their team, the Citizens might opt for their key players to be rested in the match against the Wolves, keeping in mind their packed schedule in the near future.
The lineup might look like this in the next match.
Defence
Pep Guardiola might look to start with the second choice goalkeeper Claudio Bravo as he will not look to risk Ederson against the Wolves. He might also go in with Eliaquim Mangala in place of Nicolas Otamendi in the heart of their backline alongside the likes of Danilo and Fabian Delph playing on both sides. John Stones is set to start the proceedings for Manchester City alongside Mangala once again.
Midfield
The three-man midfield of David Silva, Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne might get a place on the bench as the Citizens might start with Ilkay Gundogan, Yaya Toure and Bernardo Silva in their next match in the Carabao Cup.
Toure will need to take up the role of an enforcer and will have to keep hold of the ball as much as possible in the midfield while Gundogan and Silva will have to deliver continuous passes into the final third to feed the forwards.
Attack
The Citizens will be looking forward to continuing their gallant form, especially with players like Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane looking to score goals on every occasion they take to the field. Manchester City have already scored 29 goals so far this season and will be looking to add to their tally when they take on the Wolves in their next encounter.
However, there is a possibility that Pep Guardiola might opt for the Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus in place of Sergio Aguero. The Argentine striker has just returned from an injury and the Spaniard might not wish to risk him in the match against the Championship club.
