Watford have been on a sublime run in the Premier League this season. Marco Silva’s side has defied all the odds this term and following a dismal last season, he has been able to get the best out of the players. Walter Mazzarri’s failed attempt to change the team’s fortunes led to his ouster and Silva, who came in as his replacements, seems to be working really well with the squad at his disposal.
According to reports, Watford have taken an interest in West Bromwich Albion starlet Tyler Roberts. The Baggies sent the player to Walsall on loan to further hone his skills although the talented teenager is scheduled to be back at the Hawthorns in January.
The exciting youngster has already attracted the interest of Wales manager Chris Coleman who has been smitten over by the performance of the teenager. Coleman is set to induct the player to the senior side for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, having missed out a World Cup spot very narrowly.
Roberts is regarded as one of the best prospects at the Hawthorns but his return will definitely give Pulis a headache as he will struggle to provide the teenager with ample game time.
The 18-year-old has shown immense potential since his move to Walsall. He has been in good form and has racked up four goals alongside one assist in the League One.
Watford brought in Richarlison, Andre Carrillo and Andre Gray in a bid to improve their chance in the Premier League and if they manage to bring the youngster, they certainly will become one of the most sought-after attacking lineups in the Premier League.
Roberts is pretty matured considering his age and is that kind of the player any manager would love to have. He is quick, can move into the channels to create space for his fellow attackers and has the flair to match the quality of the English top tier.
Roberts’s contract will expire at the end of this season and the Baggies would prefer to cash in on him rather than losing him for free in the summer. Silva is an avid admirer of young talents and could develop the youngster into a potent force in the Premier League.
Watford are still on the lookout for new talents and Roberts could be a brilliant option. The Baggies are likely to offer the player a brand new deal in a bid to block his departure in a last-gasp attempt. But do you think Watford is a place Roberts will thrive at?
