Arsenal’s current situation could leave them very vulnerable in the upcoming January transfer market and it is pretty much possible that a number of players might leave the club for a better prospect.
The likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are yet to sign on the dotted line and there haven’t been any positive movements over their contract renewal. Added to that their recent dip in performances could lead their stars to head towards the exit door in the near future.
To add to their troubles, reports suggest that Real Madrid are considering a move for Gunners right-back Hector Bellerin. The Spanish international has made lots improvements on his game over the years which has turned the attention of a number of clubs.
He had been linked with a move to his former club Barcelona in the summer as the Catalans wanted to reunite with the star, whose potential they failed to recognize. But the Gunners were very rigid in their negotiations which forced Barcelona to sign Nelson Semedo instead.
Bellerin went on to further cement his position at the club, having pledged his future by committing to a new five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium but if a club like Real Madrid decides to pursue him, it would be a bit difficult for him to reject the proposal.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have not made the greatest of starts to this season as they are lagging behind archrivals Barcelona in the La Liga points table, who have had a relatively easy ride so far.
The Real Madrid manager has been also rocked with a number of injury concerns but among them, Dani Carvajal’s injury has been the biggest blow to Los Blancos. The Spanish right-back has been diagnosed with a severe heart problem and is likely to be out for an unknown period.
Achraf Hakimi has been providing good cover for him but Zidane needs to dig deep into the transfer market to find an astute solution to this problem. Being a La Masia product, it could be a controversial situation if the club makes the move but given his affinity with the Spain national team, Madrid supporters are expected to embrace him with open arms.
The 22-year-old can be very threatening with his raw pace and defensively also, he is very reliable. An offer of £35m could be enough for the Madrid giants to lure him all the way back to Spain. But do you think Arsenal will be able to replace him if Real come calling?
