Manchester United fell to their first defeat of the new season as league minnows Huddersfield Town left them with nothing to take, from their trip to the Kirklees.
The Red Devils invested well in new players during the summer transfer window and their new recruits are paying them rich dividends so far this season. However, it might not be a big deal for them to once again splash the cash in the next transfer window that commences in January and bring in some more new faces to strengthen the side even more, especially in the defensive area.
One player, who has attracted the eyes of the Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is the young left-back Aaron Martin. The 20-year-old is one of the highly regarded left backs in Spanish football and has represented his national team at the Under 21 level. He is currently playing for the La Liga club Espanyol and is tipped to become a future star for the club and his country as well.
Manchester United are facing some serious trouble in their defensive lineup, as they don’t have a permanent left back to be deployed at the present moment.
With their first choice full-back Luke Shaw out for a significant period of time with an injury and struggling to get back in action, Mourinho is compelled to use Ashley Young, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian on a rotational basis in the aforementioned position so far this season and is in dire need of a player who can fill in for the English international in the near future.
With the exuberance of youth on his side, the Spanish full-back is equipped with the ability to make darting runs down the left flank and initiate counter attacks on the opposition. He is also ready to get the tackles and clearances when needed and is not afraid to put his body on the line.
Jose Mourinho is looking to go out of his league in pursuing the young defender, as he has been inclined to use experienced players rather than youngsters in his squad throughout his managerial career. Aaron Martin can be a good inclusion to his current lineup, given the fact that the Red Devils can make good use of the player with his whole future lying ahead of him.
But do you think he can excel in the Premier League?
