Celtic’s manager, Brendan Rodgers, has perennially possessed a notable inclination towards the blossoming youngsters and has constantly afforded them with the requisite platform to thrive.
The Celts clinched the domestic treble under his tutelage last season and are placed at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with 23 points after 9 league outings. The starlets at Celtic played a key role last season and the scenario hasn’t changed much this time around as well.
One of the players to have recently drawn his attention is St. Mirren’s young gun Lewis Morgan. The former Liverpool boss believes that Morgan would be one of the shining names in the near future in the Scottish football.
The 21-year-old clinched the Scottish Championship Player of the Month award for September and there cannot be any doubts regarding why he is so highly rated. He has been in a fantastic form this season, having smashed 5 goals in 9 appearances in Scottish second division and the football fraternity have started to take a note of him.
Morgan joined the Saints from the youth setup of Rangers in 2012 and has been playing a pivotal role for his employers for quite some time now. Capable of playing on either wing as well as a striker, he has raw pace in his boots which allows him to rattle the opposition’s defence by stretching them.
His confidence whilst running at the opposition is simply exemplary and he times his runs perfectly, which makes him a tough package to handle. Morgan creates ample amount of space and finds the right passes more often than not and further, he also creates plenty of chances for his teammates as well.
The way in which he accelerates allows him to get into the right areas on the flanks from where he manoeuvres juicy crosses into the box and the work-rate that he showcases week in and week out is one of the many reasons why the football fraternity have inked his name in their good books.
Morgan’s contract with the Buddies runs out next summer and given his calibre, there would certainly be a lot of sides lining up for him, including Celtic. The Scotland U21 would be looking to ply his trade in the Scottish Premiership and a move to the Celtic Park would certainly be an upward step in his career.
Under the tutelage of Rodgers, the likes of Kieran Tierney, Patrick Roberts and Moussa Dembele have been delivering to their utmost potential and there lies no reason whatsoever as to why someone like Morgan would not be able to thrive well if a deal materializes in the near future.
