Arsenal are currently looking completely out of shape in the Premier League, having already lost three of their first eight matches this season. Their last defeat was an unfortunate one at Vicarage Road, which saw Watford midfielder Tom Cleverly score the winner right before the final whistle.
The North London club is also facing problems in the composition of their squad in the recent times, with a number of key players plagued by injuries. Besides, their Chilean ace Alexis Sanchez has not signed a new deal with his current contract expiring at the end of this term, leaving his future at the Emirates Stadium in jeopardy.
This has called for the Gunners to take evasive action and they are already eyeing a number of players who can fill in for their talismanic attacker. Among the names, one player who has come up as the most viable replacement for the player is the Turkish superstar Arda Turan.
The 30-year-old attacker is currently plying his trade in the La Liga for the Catalan giants Barcelona. Considered as one of the top players in European football, the player made his way into the side in 2015 after playing his role as an influential forward at the La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.
With his swift footwork and the ability to score goals, the player was introduced into the Barcelona side with the view to give their attack more sharpness. However, the scene has been far from perfect for the Turkish forward, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Catalan club and over the last couple of seasons, the player has been restricted to bits and pieces role in the squad.
Reportedly, the player has grown increasingly frustrated over time and might look for options to join, where he can get the opportunity to play in the first team on a regular basis. Currently, the player has been linked with a number of big-name clubs among which Arsenal is right on the top of the list.
The Gunners are looking utterly befuddled in the Premier League this season and are in dire need of a player who can lead their attack with precision and score goals to get them hit the ground running.
With the option of signing Arda Turan available in the next transfer window, the North London club might make their bid to get the Barcelona outcast in their side and strengthen their attack for the future.
