Swansea City have had their difficulties in this season and will look for all three points in their match in a bid to keep them in the hunt in the Premier League. Paul Clement’s side will be looking for three points when they take on a struggling Huddersfield Town.
It is unlikely to be a goal feast as both the teams have had their fair share of struggles in front of the goal this season. Clement lost two of his influential player Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente in the summer and their absence is being felt.
On the back of a miserable 1-0 loss against West Ham United, when they conceded a last-minute goal, the Swans will be eager to shrug off their disappointment. Swansea aren’t scoring goals at this moment.
It is not the fact that they are missing chances after chances rather, the real fact is they haven’t created too many chances to be converted into goals.
Predicted Swansea City Starting Lineup Against Huddersfield Town
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski is one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League currently but the Polish international’s performance kept falling downwards in the last few matches. Despite all this, Clement is likely to rely on him.
Swansea have been pretty tight at the back and the credit should go to Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez. The pair has been running the proceedings very smoothly and given the Terriers’ attacking threat, it shouldn’t be a problem for them.
Martin Olsson will be looking to making room on the left flank. The left-back is renowned for his electric runs through the flanks and can float dangerous crosses.
Kyle Naughton will be on the right side.
Midfield
Renato Sanches’ picked up an injury on his international duty for Portugal and is facing a race against time to be fit. In case he doesn’t make it to the starting lineup, Roque Mesa will take his place. Tom Carroll will be alongside him at the centre of the pitch.
Leon Britton will be at the base of the midfield to provide the backline with a sufficient cover.
Attack
Jordan Ayew will be lining up just behind the main strikers to give the game a new dimension.
Wilfried Bony might start up front as he has recovered from an injury he picked up during Ivory Coast’s World Cup qualifier. Tammy Abraham will be his strike partner and together they can create havoc in the opposition ranks.
Here is how they might line up:
