Chelsea are looking to play their heart out after the international break looking to keep hold of their Premier League title. They are currently not looking in their best form and there is a chance that the Blues might want to add some new players to their lineup in January.
The West London club are currently facing a major crisis in their attack, with their main striker Alvaro Morata out with an injury that is expected to keep him out of the action for some time. Though he is on the way to recovery, his absence might leave a hole in the squad and the Blues will have to seek newer options to add to their firepower in such cases in the future.
The Blues already have a brilliant striker in the form of Michy Batshuayi but might not look to utilise him as their main man up front. Speculations are rife that the Premier League champions are on their way to making a bid for the Gabon international Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the next transfer window, who is currently playing for the German club Borussia Dortmund.
The 28-year-old is one of the best forwards in European football in the recent times and has become a potential target for a number of big-name clubs from all over Europe. The striker has been in superb form in the last few seasons for “Die Schwarzgelben” and has established himself as the attacking spearhead for them.
The Gabonese forward has made 200 appearances for the side since his arrival at the club in 2013 and has played a very important role in establishing them as a powerhouse in German as well as European football. He has scored 133 goals so far for the Bundesliga giants and is keen to add to the tally in the future.
Given their current woes in the attack, there is a high chance that Chelsea might bring in some more attackers into their side in the next term. They have already let go of their star striker and top scorer from the last term, Diego Costa, who has returned to his former club Atletico Madrid.
This has left them in a spot of bother for the rest of this season, and the reigning English champions might look to make a bid for the 28-year-old striker in January.
However, there is minimal chance of this heist to be successful for the Blues as Borussia Dortmund might not let the player leave anytime soon, especially not in the middle of the season, making it tough for Chelsea. But can Conte pull it off?
