Burnley will look to extend their unbeaten run that they have been carrying on since their last defeat in the second match of their campaign in the Premier League this term. However, it will not be easy for them to keep another clean sheet when they go up against Everton, who are desperate to earn points on the back of a morale-boosting win in their last match against Bournemouth.
The Clarets have been a resilient side so far this season and have silenced the attacks of formidable sides like Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in their last few matches. They have shown great character on the pitch so far and have incurred good results in their favour, one of them being the giant-killing act that they performed against reigning Premier League champions Chelsea by beating them in their own backyard in the opening match of the campaign.
They will look for a repetition of that when they face the Toffees at Goodison Park this weekend.
Defence
The Burnley defence has responded very well and came up to the rescue of their team whenever there has been a necessity. Players like Matthew Lowton, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee and Stephen Ward have played their individual part with absolute precision and have helped their side keep a clean sheet in the last match against the Terriers.
They will look to repeat it once more in the next match and will help their side earn some valuable points. Nick Pope will be the custodian for them in absence of Tom Heaton.
Midfield
It will an intriguing battle for the ball in the middle of the pitch, when the Clarets and the Toffees face each other in their next match at Goodison Park. The Burnley midfielders were up to the task in their last match against Huddersfield and went on to keep good possession of the ball to deny their opponents the opportunity to get them on the backfoot.
Though it will be a stern test against Everton, the Clarets, with Jack Cork, Jeff Hendrick, Steven Defour, Robbie Brady and Scott Arfield will look to get the better of their opponents whenever there is an opportunity.
Attack
Chris Wood is expected to start once again against Everton in their next match and will have to be at his best to score against the likes of Ashley Williams and Michael Keane. He has been in good form of late, having already notched up two goals and will look to add to his tally against Everton.
Predicted Lineup-
Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Cork, Hendrick, Defour, Brady, Arfield, Wood.
