As the transfer window draws to a close, there are a few clubs still in the market working hard to secure some last minute deals. Everton are one such club who are expected to be in the mix as they are still continually linked with the players. It seems that there would be movement both ways with James McCarthy set to leave the club. New Manager Ronald Koeman has already brought in a few players in order to bolster his squad which was much needed. The blue half of Merseyside has already seen the likes of Maarten Stekelenburg, Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Yannick Bolasie arrive for the new season and there is still room for some more after the sale of John Stones to Manchester City for a mega amount.
Everton are reportedly in talks with Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini, who has also been attracting interest from Inter Milan. The Toffees have had their bid of £19.6 m rejected by Napoli who are holding out for a fee of £25m for the 24-year-old. On the other hand out of favour Manchester City striker, Wilfred Bony is also a player Koeman would like to make a part of his team.
Bony who is also being tracked by West Ham United is very likely to move away from the Etihad within the next two days and with the Hammers already signing Simone Zaza on loan, Everton has the upper hand as the club is willing to pay a bid of £20m for the striker. Romelu Lukaku seems to have finally decided that he would be staying at Everton and Koeman would look to provide him with some support as well as competition upfront with the purchase of one more striker.
Out of the two players mentioned above, there’s a high chance that one of them should be coming to Goodison Park. Also, there’s a high possibility of James McCarthy moving out of the club with Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Leicester City all very interested in the player. With a potential incoming and an outgoing on the cards, it certainly promises to be a frenetic last couple of days for Everton in the transfer market.
This season has already started with huge excitement for the fans with Ronald Koeman coming in to take charge and with the incomings so far. The club has also fared well on the pitch showing signs of the positive mentality and the newly gained defensive solidity which they missed for the last three years. The fans now, do have something more to look forward to for the next two days in terms of transfers as it is starting to look very bright for Everton once again.
