It’s been a winless month for Jurgen Klopp and his men and they’ve crashed out of the Carabao Cup too but their eyes were set on revenge as they looked to defeat Leicester City and that is exactly what they did.
Goals from Salah, Coutinho and Henderson were just enough to finish Leicester as the home team looked to claw its way back amongst the points table. Here’s how the Reds of Anfield have been rated :0
Gk: Simon Mignolet – 5.5/10
Had to make a crucial save of Vardy early on and he depended upon his resolute team in the later stages. Conceded and saved the penalty as well.
RB: Joe Gomez – 5/10
Chilwell and Albrighton did give him some good amount of trouble and he couldn’t contribute much to the attack.
CB: Joel Matip – 5/10
Used his head or his feet to wade out waves after waves of Southampton account. It was nice.
CB: Dejan Lovren – 5/10
Lost possession many times and made sure his work was cut.
LB: Alberto Moreno – 6/10
Looked promising attacking wise more than the defence although he did a tidy job.
CM: Emre Can – 6/10
He hit the bar in the first half and looked energetic. Escaped the penalty shouts though.
CM: Jordan Henderson – 7/10
Battled for supremacy in the middle and even though he was caught out a few times he worked half. He also converted an excellent finish.
CM: Georginio Wijnaldum – 5/10
He had a quiet game and was noticeable in some of the lineups.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 6/10
Missed an absolute sitter but went on to score and confirm a lovely header goal. Overall he was very sweet and a good display.
LW: Philippe Coutinho- 8.5/10
Man of the match! His stunning interplay, gorgeous free kick and the assists spoke volumes about what it adds to the team.
ST: Roberto Firmino – 5/10
Really silent today and he cut an isolated figure. He surely has to improve!
Substitution:-
Daniel Sturridge – 8/10
Looked focus and determined and set up the goal for Henderson as well.
James Miner – 6/10
Came on to help the defence and did what he was asked for.
