All is not well with Leicester City. The 2015/16 Premier League Champions have only mustered a single win so far and have fared pretty badly so far this season. However, there will be a chance for their redemption when welcome Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
Craig Shakespeare’s side will try to pick up full three points against a side who are winless in their last three matches. Jurgen Klopp’s side are in a bit of unsettled and the Foxes gaffer would want to derail their juggernaut.
In a very interesting thing, The Reds will be returning to the King Power stadium following their Carabao Cup match to compete in the Premier League and these two fixtures are going to be an acid test for the Reds as they haven’t tasted victories at this venue since 2014.
Defence
Keeping in minds of the important Premier League fixture against Shakespeare is going to rest his number one keeper Kasper Schmeichel. In the last cup fixture, the gaffer used Ben Hamer in the goals but we could see a new face in Eldin Jakupovic who is yet to get a minute for the senior side.
Robert Huth is ready and set to go. The lanky defender is back from injury and set to be reinstated in the backline. Aleksandar Dragovic might be given a chance to prove his worth in the central defence alongside Huth.
Ben Chilwell will be on the left side of the defence while Danny Simpson will continue his resurgent right-hand side.
Midfield
We could see a number of changes in the midfield setup. Vicente Iborra had one full ninety minutes for the reserve side and Shakespeare might give him a start to prove his fitness.
Andy King should be his preferable partner in the middle of the pitch. The Foxes no. 10 needs to prove his credentials in the Blue jersey.
Attack
Demarai Gray will start from the left wing. The young winger has been crying for first-team game time and Shakespeare would like to fulfil his demand.
Ahmed Musa will be in action from the right flank. The Nigerian international has rarely been seen on the pitch but will have a chance to impress the gaffer.
Leonardo Ulloa will be upfront to put in a more combative attacking display. He will be partnered by Islam Slimani in the two-man forward line.
