Leeds United might have failed to bag even a single point against Millwall on Saturday, but in all fairness, it would not be absurd to underline that the Whites have had a smashing start to their new season. Under the tutelage of Thomas Christiansen, they have collected 17 points from their first 8 league outings and have really appeared to be a side capable enough to earn a promotion to the Premier League.
Christiansen made some spectacular signings during the summer transfer window, with the likes of Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski, Mateusz Klich and Pawel Cibicki being lured to the Elland Road. They have tightened their screws on every frontier and have the ingredients to thrive. However, it has been noted by the well-informed Scouts In Attendence of late that Leeds United had sent a scout to watch Rosenborg’s Europa League clash against Real Sociedad on Thursday.
It is perceived that the Championship outfit were monitoring the Norwegian outfit’s winger Samuel Adegbenro during the game. Adegbenro emerged through the youth ranks of Prime, before being earning experiences whilst plying his trade for the senior sides of Kwara United and Viking. During the summer transfer window, he made a move to the ranks of Rosenborg.
Adegbenro helped his current employers in qualifying for the group stages of Europa League, as he scored three goals over two legs during their 4-2 aggregate win over Ajax, and his contributions proved to be crucial. The 21-year-old is a speedy winger who dribbles really well, possesses the technical understanding of the game and always looks to be industrious and desirous in the final third.
Predominantly a left winger, Adegbenro is capable enough of plying his trade in the central attacking midfield role and despite his young age, he has mustered plenty of experience under his belt. In a total of 69 Eliteserien games, the youngster has smashed 15 goals and has also garnered 11 assists to his name and no wonder why his stocks are so highly rated.
The Peacocks do have plenty of ammunition in their attacking arsenal, with the likes of Alioski, Saiz, Pablo Hernandez, Cibicki available with them. But then, Adegbenro would be able to offer a new dimension to their attacking prowess. At this stage of his career, the Nigerian should be aiming to enter into new endeavours and thus, a move to a growing side like Leeds United has the ingredients to be a decent step for him.
