Chelsea have started their season in gallant fashion in the Premier League, having won three of their first four matches of the campaign. They also had a head start in the Champions League after missing out in the last term, having won their very first match of the season by demolishing new entrants Qarabag by 6-0.
The Blues are looking to get more wins in their bag as the season progresses on both the domestic as well as European fronts in order to get their hands on both the trophies this season. Their intent might get a major boost in the coming weeks as there is a strong possibility of their star man Eden Hazard signing a new deal, which will see him staying at the club for four more years.
The Belgian captain has been instrumental and has delivered regularly for the last few years for the West Londoners, taking them to new heights in the European as well as domestic campaigns.
The player had a superb time in the last campaign in the Premier League, leading them to the top of the table and eventually helping them to become the champions of England. His signature on the new deal will definitely give the manager of his side, Antonio Conte a big relief and the hope of once again topping the charts this season as well.
Hazard has been one of the best players in the attack for his club as well as country and has been hailed as one of the most prolific scorers in the Premier League. He went on to become the main player after Diego Costa and scored 16 goals in the last term to take his side to the top of the table in the Premier League and kept them there till the end of the season.
However, he is yet to start for the Blues in any of the competitions so far, nursing an injury that he had picked up at the end of the last term. The West Londoners will hope to see him back in action and come out all guns blazing against their opponents in the new season, just the way he did in the last term and won a number of matches for them.
Speculations are rife that the player has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, especially to the Spanish champions Real Madrid. However, it is assumed that the new contract will help bog down all the rumours surrounding his departure from Chelsea in the near future.
