Everton have been quite busy in the transfer market as they roped in a number of players to make an impression this season. Ronald Koeman already showed his capability last season and wanted further improvements in the squad.
Everton took their transfer spending beyond £100m this summer but still, they have struggled to establish their authority this season. The Dutch manager will need further reinforcements in the future and according to reports, the Toffees are monitoring 19-year-old Lovro Majer.
The youngster has hogged the lime lights with his impressive display for NK Lokomotiva last season. The Croatian playmaker has been linked with a number of clubs following his spirited performances and Koeman seems to be pretty excited after seeing the player’s ability to create and score goals.
The 19-year-old attacking playmaker was in the thick of things last season as he scored three goals alongside providing three assists. It was his capability to provide assists that created an admiration in the European circuit and Koeman is also a part of that.
Majer has continued his brilliance this season too as in the seven games he has played so far, he has been absolutely magnificent for his team, netting four times and laid on another three goals.
Koeman has already signed a plethora of young players as he wants to inject a pale of enthusiasm among the side. He recently signed Nikola Vlasic from Hajduk Split in Croatia and Majer could be the second Croatian under his tutelage.
The youngster is best suited in the no. 10 role but can also perform his duty from a much deeper role. The Toffees have already have a very young contingent of player so it won’t be difficult for him to acclimatise with the team.
Majer has also been linked with Watford as Marco Silva has been looking to enhance the quality of his side. If Everton does resume their interest they might have to fight with the Hornets to rope in the player.
Likened with Luka Modric the Croatian wonder kid has already made his debut for the national team this year and it seems he is going to be an inevitable part of their World Cup campaign which is scheduled for next year.
Everton are looking for a possible winter swoop for the player but given their current squad strength, he won’t get much game time as things stand as of now.
But investing him could be a masterstroke for the Merseyside club as a player of his calibre could be a future asset for the club.
