Arsenal are on the verge of playing their first European match of the season, having qualified for the Europa League this time around, after finishing fifth in the Premier League for the first time since 1998 in the last season. The Gunners will be facing German side FC Koln in their first match of the competition and will be looking to get nothing less than three points as they go into the clash on Thursday.
The North Londoners have faced difficulties in the recent season to get positive results under their belt, having lost two of their first four matches so far. However, they have clawed back somewhat into the tournament after their last win in the match against Bournemouth that was played this weekend at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners will look to carry their winning form into their next match against Koln when they face them in the Europa League.
The man in charge at the North London club, Arsene Wenger, has been looking to strengthen his side and has brought in a number of players including French striker Alexandre Lacazette in order to revamp his strike force. However, he is willing to make more changes to the side, especially in the attacking front and bring in more top class forwards into the side in the next transfer window.
The Frenchman has been eyeing Brazilian attacker Lucas Moura for some time now and tried his hand at getting the player to the Emirates Stadium this summer from Paris Saint Germain. However, the offer Arsenal made was not good enough for the French giants to let go of their Brazilian ace and it was rejected eventually.
That rejection seems to have not altered the strong resolve from Wenger and they might be in the transfer market once again in pursuit of their desired candidate in January, looking to make a substantial bid that the former French champions will not be able to repudiate.
On the other hand, the 24-year-old Brazilian has been looking to get into the first team at PSG but that idea has seemingly taken a back seat for the time being since the arrival of his compatriot and one of the best players in the world, Neymar Jr on a world record transfer fee this summer at the Parc Des Princes.
That being the case, there is ample hope for the North London club to land Moura in the next transfer window and consolidate their attacking lineup for the rest of the season. But can they land him?
