Arsenal have faced despair in the Premier League so far, having lost two of their opening matches of the season so far after winning the first one in a hard fought encounter against Leicester City. The Gunners are looking to bounce back in the forthcoming matches and are in dire need of players who can help them turn their fortunes around.
The North Londoners have been in line to sign one of the most highly regarded attackers in the present scenario in the form of Thomas Lemar from the French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco. The Frenchman had a brilliant season for his current club and led his team to triumph in the Ligue 1 after a long gap of 17 years.
The player has been linked with a number of clubs from all over Europe, with Premier League sides Liverpool and Arsenal looking the closest to bag the player during the last transfer window. The North London club also made a bid for the young winger, only to see it getting rejected by the player himself, who opted to stay with his current possessors in the new season as well.
However, this rejection has failed to bog down the Gunners who are reportedly looking to once again try their hand at getting the player into the side in the next transfer window. Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal, is a big fan of the pace and prowess of the 21-year-old and is looking desperate to bag the player as soon as possible.
Reportedly, the wily Frenchman might make a stunning offer for the player, which might include Alexis Sanchez as a part of the deal, who has been Arsenal’s mainstay in the attack in the recent past and has been an integral part of their lineup since his arrival at the club in 2014.
The Chilean marksman is also looking for a move out of the former Premier League champion club after their inability to bag major silverware to show for their efforts in the last few seasons, which became even stronger after the North Londoners were unable to finish in the top four in the last term.
It might be a good move nevertheless for the Gunners to let go of the contract rebel Sanchez next winter and bring in the young Frenchman Lemar into the side to bolster the attack. However, the ominous scoring record of the Chilean forward might make it a difficult choice to make for the North London club. So should they let Sanchez go to land Lemar?
