Leicester City went into the international break with a hard loss against Manchester United as the Foxes went down 2-0 to the Red Devils after a good fight. Manager Craig Shakespeare will hope his side take the positives from the game and focus on their strength in the next game against Chelsea.
Another huge boost would be the end of the transfer window that was a chip on the manager’s shoulder with numerous uncertainties in the dressing room. The Foxes had to let Danny Drinkwater move to Chelsea and somehow held on to Riyad Mahrez after huge speculations concerning the Algerian on the last day of the transfer window.
As Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has recently stated, things should return back to normalcy until December when the January transfer window reopens. Shakespeare will hope the same and will build on the poor start they had to the season.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leicester City Line-up vs Chelsea
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will start under the bar for sure. The Danish shot stopper has been back to his best this season and kept Leicester in the game against Manchester United by saving a Romelu Lukaku penalty in the second half. However, the Foxes couldn’t capitalize on that at the end.
The back line will have to take a lot of the blame for their poor display so far. The defensive flanks are expected to be taken by Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson, while skipper Wes Morgan fills the central defence alongside new arrival Harry Maguire.
Leicester have conceded six goals in the three games and Morgan would expect more coherence this time against a good side like Chelsea. Maguire has been really impactful for the Foxes so far and would hope it brings result against the defending champions.
Midfield
With Drinkwater now gone, there remains no confusion at all. Onyinye Ndidi and Matty James were quite balancing in the midfield against United and Shakespeare is likely to stick with them against Chelsea. Despite Drinkwater’s departure, Leicester have a number of quality options in the middle of the park like Daniel Amartey, Andy King, Vicente Iborra and the latest Adrien Silva.
However, the Portuguese maestro won’t be able to play until January as Leicester couldn’t submit his papers on time.
Shinji Okazaki has been brilliant so far scoring twice in three games and will take his position as the shadow striker.
Attack
The wings should be taken Marc Albrighton and Mahrez. With all the chaos now gone, the Algerian would expect to focus on his game now. The attack will be led by Jamie Vardy.
