Arsenal have looked in an absolutely disastrous situation in the present moment having lost their last two matches against Stoke City and Liverpool. The loss against the Merseyside club was nothing less than a humiliation for the Gunners, as they found themselves down by 4-0 at the final whistle in a submissive display by their defenders.
However, the North Londoners are looking to bounce back in their forthcoming match against Bournemouth, looking to get all three points from the game. They will have to be cautious and might have to make a few changes in their lineup to make it look strong and take on the Cherries at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger, the man in charge at the Emirates, is aware of the fact that it might be his last season in charge of the Gunners if he does not make an impact, with his decision making to turn the tables in favour of his club, which he has done several times in the past as well.
He has not been able to stop his opponents from scoring against his team and has been forced to rethink his strategy, especially about playing three defenders at the back, which has miserably failed so far in the Premier League.
The Arsenal defence has already conceded eight goals this term with their new 3-4-3 formation, out of which four came in their last match, which saw the Reds dominate the proceedings from the word go. The wily Frenchman is looking to think something out to get his team out of trouble, which might also involve a change in the team formation.
The Gunners have been successful in the past with their four man defence and might look to go back to their tried and tested system for the upcoming matches. This change, however, might put a hold on their attacking intent, as they will have to decrease the number of the players in attacking position to accommodate another defender in the lineup.
The North Londoners have always been known for their attacking style and have been much more dependent on their front line to bring wins for them. Arsene Wenger might implement the three man defence in the forthcoming match against the South Coast club, who, however, haven’t looked threatening so far in the season and has managed to score only one goal in their last defeat against Manchester City.
With the Bournemouth defence also looking vulnerable, it might be a good ploy for Arsenal to play the attacking 3-4-3 formation to notch up goals and thus bag a much-needed win in the competition. But is it time for Wenger to look back and stick with a 4-man defence later in the season?
