Scottish giants Celtic are due to face Hamilton Academical this weekend in the Scottish Premiership game at the SuperSeal Stadium. The Celts went into the international break after their second leg defeat at the hands of Astana and then shared points with St. Johnstone.
Although they managed to get to the group stages of the elite club level competition of Europe and have also started their league campaign in a decent manner as they have collected 10 points from their first 4 league outings, they would be looking to regroup after the halt and fare in a better manner in the upcoming games.
Under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers, the Hoops clinched the domestic treble and the foremost priority of the former Liverpool boss would be to keep their territorial supremacy intact. The Accies have also kicked off their league campaign in a decent manner and are placed 4th in the league table with 7 points after 4 games.
Rodgers is unlikely to be complacent against Hamilton Academical and here is how he might dish out his starting line-up this weekend.
Defence:
No change is expected for the custodian’s role as Craig Gordon is expected to start with the gloves. Ahead of him, Nir Bitton and Kristoffer Ajer, as Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko are still sidelined owing their knee injury. Ajer and Bitton have carved mix results so far, but Rodgers doesn’t have much to choose from.
On the left-back slot, Scottish sensation Kieran Tierney is anticipated to start once again and from the right-back position, Anthony Ralston should be handed a start ahead of Mikael Lustig, to preserve the latter for their crucial Champions League game against Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
Midfield:
Olivier Ntcham and Scott Brown have teed up tremendously well in the middle of the park and have not only cushioned the backline meticulously but have also ensured that they push forward the attacking endeavours of their side. Tom Rogic should be finding his place in the starting line-up from the no.10 position.
Attack:
Moussa Dembele is still out with a hamstring injury and his deputy, Leigh Griffiths, limped off in Scotland’s match against Malta with a calf problem and isn’t expected to be risked for the game against Martin Canning’s outfit. In a scenario like this, new signing Odsonne Edouard should be given the nod to spearhead Celtic’s attack, with Scott Sinclair on the left-wing and Patrick Roberts on the right.
