Manchester United have made a perfect start to their league campaign and manager Jose Mourinho will be happy with the way his summer signings have performed so far this season. However, the Portuguese is trying to compete on all four fronts and improve on his side’s finish in the previous season and now wants to add more players to his squad before the end of the season.
He will get a chance to do so in the January transfer market and there are a number of stars who are constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford. One such player Mourinho is growing desperate for is Tottenham Hotspur star, Danny Rose.
The English international missed a major chunk of the previous season through injury and not too long ago, spoke in an interview about being unhappy in London. The Red Devils have been long term admirers of the player and were expected to sign him up in the summer but reports now claim that Mourinho is ready to offer Luke Shaw as a part of the deal to land Rose in January.
The former Southampton full-back, Shaw has recently stepped up his recovery from a serious injury but is not expected to take a place in the first team for atleast another month. He has constantly been criticized by the manager and was extensively linked with an exit in the summer. So is a swap deal for this English pair a decent piece of business for the Red Devils?
At just 22, the Manchester United full-back is one of the most exciting players in his position in the country and made a name for himself at the St Marys’ before moving to the Old Trafford. Quick and smart with the ball at his feet, Shaw is an attacking full-back with decent dribbling and crossing abilities.
At his age, he has already made seven international appearances for the Three Lions and is surely a star for the future. But Mourinho is fed up with his injuries and lack of form and wants a more proven prospect in Danny Rose for his side.
A product of the academy at the Elland Road, the 27-year old left-back is one of the most experienced players in his position in the country and has over 150 PL appearances to date. He is a strong and athletic player with equal skill at both ends of the field and could easily walk into the first team at Old Trafford over the likes of Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian in the current squad.
He is also a bit injury prone like Shaw but when fit, he is a beast, who can not only help score but can also defend well. He is perfect for Mourinho’s style of play and if the manager can land him at the cost of a player who he does not trust, this will represent a great piece of business by the Red Devils. But do you think Rose will join United this January?
